The Brightsides Atlantic Row
2024 Atlantic Dash winners
Project 23 Coaching athletes Rod Adlington (captain) and Guy Minshull were part of The Brightsides crew who completed the world’s toughest row, crossing the Atlantic Ocean. They won the 2024 Atlantic Dash race in an incredible 52 days 18 hours and 53 minutes, in some of the hardest conditions of any previous years.
This challenge is extremely dangerous, many have failed and lives, in the history of the event, have sadly been lost. Their accomplishment is something truly extraordinary! Rod and Guy are just two local 50+ year old Warwickshire farmers who attempted this crazy feat to raise money for charity in the memory of Rod’s son, who was sadly lost to meningitis. They have successfully raised over £100,000.
We worked with the guys for the 12 months leading up to the race helping them prepare their bodies for the extreme demands of the row. There was constant adversity and challenges along the way. However, they never gave up and became some of the few to ever achieve this feat.
